This week I was invited along to Newtownards Reformed Presbyterian Church Womens Fellowship to share my story of how I ended up as a blogger and jewellery designer.
It is my parents church, and there were more than a few familiar faces in the audience – quite a few I was related too! It was a wee bit more daunting sharing my faith and my journey among those who have known me my whole life, but they seemed to find it interesting!
While sharing, I demonstrated how I make a knitted cuff, and we managed despite the lack of a data projector – those nearer the front could just about see my macbook screen!
As well as my jewellery making I shared a few of my other passions – digital scrapbooking, blogging and iPhone photography.
Over a cup of tea the ladies had a chance to view my jewellery, and some purchases were made. A percentage of sales went to the Chest Heart and Stroke Association charity.
Since Mum’s stroke a year ago, it was a wee bit emotional sharing that part of my life, especially as Mum would without question have been there if not for her stroke. However it gave me the opportunity to thank our friends and family who have been so supportive and faithful in visiting mum and helping my Dad too.
I was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the end of the evening.
Thank you to all those who came along, and for your interest and support.
